Ghost miner, or Info miner?

greg99 (maker of Ghostminer Mining Macro keygen) announced today on Public Demands that CNC Mining have the ability to steal the username and password of any user of Ghostminer.

greg reported that after a key is found not to match up with a key on their server, Ghostminer will take the user's key, product id, username, password, a screenshot of their desktop and sends them to 3 emails: hackedkey@cncmining.com, admin@cncmining.com and keyreq@cncmining.com.

The only information useful to them is the product id and key. They most likely use the user's username and password to steal ISK and sell it on to a third party.

Don't be too scared of getting caught though. greg99 says, "The key system design is lame and easy to crack, so expect the whole system to be hacked and patch in a couple of days."

How to Make Mega Isk On EVE Online.. The Pirate Way

Before I begin i'm going to explain what a mining macro is and the various ones on the internet.

What is a Mining Macro?
If you've ever played EVE Online (a space MMORPG) you'll know that one of the ways to make money (ISK) is to mine from asteroids and sell the ore. The problem is that you need to be at your PC pretty much 100% of the time. This is where macros come in handy.

In one line, a macro miner will mine and sell the ore for you repeatedly without you needing to interfear. This means you can leave it to mine for hours, or days!

Which Macro Miner Should I Use?

There are about 5 main macro miners for EVE Online on the internet, all with different ways to tackle the problem of automatic mining. Some are free (such as Discovery), and some aren't. Most of the non-free ones are about $30 (IMO you might as well buy 1000 million ISK with $30, but it's up to you). To name a few macros, OCR/ AI Mining Macro (discontinued), TCSM (also discontinued), GhostMiner Mining Macro, AutoMinerX (discontinued), EasyMiner, and Discovery Mining Macro/ Bot.

You might also want to make your own using AutoHotkey, but I won't explain how to in this article.

GhostMiner Mining Macro: This macro will attempt to create bookmarks for you. Part of the process they use is to delete the EVE Online settings file, and therefor resetting all settings. This may be frustrating for people who also want to play the game.

Discovery Mining Macro/ Bot: My bot doesn't reset any settings but instead creates the bookmarks in-game. Instead of using risky ways to detect where the ship is, Discovery doesn't detect at all. By using timers the bot is much more reliable. Of course this relies on the user's delay tweaking ability.

Is it Safe?

No matter what macro miner companies say, you are at risk of being banned as It's against the CCP rules. That said, their macro detection system sucks, you don't normally have players monitoring other players 100% of the time and as long as you're a paying customer CCP will take you back if you beg.

There are *a lot* of dodgy files claiming to be mining macros on the internet. If the macro has a file included in the macro's files dedicated to a rapidshare, or other shifty site, DO NOT run it. One known group is CyberWarez who replaces file with keyloggers.

Hopefully now you understand what a mining macro is and which one to choose. As I'm the creator of Discovery my opinion of macros is bias, but mine is the best ;D

The poll says 60% of you are coders. So there must be someone that can help. Bot-Central is looking for people who've made bots to host them on here. I think every AHK coder has a little script to maintain something-or-other.

If you're interested, contact me and you'll be given all the info you need to create your project page.
